MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 news) - 60 million viewers are expected to tune in Tuesday's presidential debate and here in Ouachita Parish, Republican Cynthia Brackins plans to watch with her family, "I'm looking forward to seeing the debate, I think Romney will do well tonight." said Cynthia Brackins. While Democrat Brenda Shelling will watch it at a viewing party, she told KNOE Monday, she's looking forward to hearing the president speak.

"He wants to do well for the people of the united states and it comes out in his demeanor." said Shelling. During the debate, Romney will have the final word in the closing remarks, but Obama will get to answer the first question. The 90 minute debate will have no strict time limits and no audience applause.

ULM political science professor Dr. Joshua Stockley predicts both candidates have challenges to overcome Wednesday night. Mitt Romney must prove his authenticity. "He has to convince them that he understands them and he has a plan for the next four years that exceeds that of the incumbent and president Barack Obama's must focus on the economy. "He has to justify the unemployment is still so high, how come he failed to deliver on that promise, what about the next four years that will be substantially different from the past 4." said Stockley. "Most likely tonight's debate is not going to make or break either individual." he added.
