Gas prices continue to slip

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Gas prices here in Louisiana eased downward again this past week, dropping another 4.4¢. Nationally, those prices only dropped. 2.4¢.

Currently the average retail gas price in Louisiana stands at $3.56 a gallon, compared to $3.79 nationally.

Louisiana's prices this week are 36.4¢ a gallon higher than a year ago and 10.7¢ a gallon lower than a month ago. National prices are .8¢ a gallon lower than a month ago and 33.2¢ a gallon higher than a year ago.

Some petro-experts are predicting we'll see larger drops in gas prices next month, but Gasbuddy's Patrick DeHaan isn't so sure, commenting that he doesn't see enough relief to satisfy the majority of American motorists any time soon.
