Furry friends needing a home

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Several of our furry friends would like to have a permanent home soon. The Pet Assistance Welfare Society, or PAWS, is continuing their efforts to finding good families for the cats and dogs. Once a month, the group sets up an offsite adoption day. Several volunteers along with the animals were at the PETCO store in Monroe Saturday afternoon. But if you missed out, it's still not too late to add to your family.

"The parish shelter is open during the week and they can come out and visit. There are a lot of wonderful pets out there," PAWS President Jo Traylor said. "Cats and dogs are just waiting for someone to come and adopt them."

The next offsite adoption day is October 20th. Typically, the special adoption days are held on the fourth Saturday of each month.
