GRAND ISLE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - State Fire Marshal investigators today are on the scene of an apartment fire in Grand Isle, where two people died overnight.
The Grand Isle Fire Department responded to an alarm at the Willow Creek Apartments complex on La. highway 1 last night and discovered one apartment to be burning. Inside that apartment, they discovered the bodies of the two victims.
The fire was extinguished and damage is mostly confined to several apartment units on the second floor.
The investigators report they will be working with local authorities and the fire department there to determine the cause of this tragic fire.
