MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - More information released in the investigation of a former Ouachita Sheriff's deputy accused of stealing fine money.
A new report, released by the Louisiana Legislator Auditor's, shows Lakeisha Ford-Norris altered records to hide the theft of $75,000. Ford-Norris was arrested earlier this year. She's accused of stealing money from fines paid at the tax office by giving people financial credit for time served.
Ford-Norris worked at the sheriff's office for nine years.
Deputies say they're now moving forward with the prosecution process.
