FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Union Parish Sheriff's Office need your help finding a historic horse buggy, that rode off in the wrong hands.

Police say the family heirloom has been missing for a week now.

George Upshaw, owner of the buggy, says "somebody was real gutsy to do that you know cause there is no way you could haul it or tear it apart or put it in a truck you had to have a you know pretty good size trailer to haul this buggy."

Upshaw says he's very upset one of his family heirlooms was stolen.

On September 18th Union Parish deputies responded to a call off of Dry Creek Road in Farmerville, but this wasn't an ordinary theft, this one involved a two seat horse buggy.

Upshaw says the buggy has been a staple in several local parades and horse shows.

Darien Brown with the Union Parish Crime Stoppers says the buggy definitely stands out, "it's very unique style to it, it's black in color and it has a burgundy and maroon, a burgundy and purple interior."

The Union Parish Crime Stoppers are offering an award up to one thousand dollars for a felony arrest, if you have any information about this case or know where this buggy may be, you can call and leave an anonymous tip at 318-368-9679.
