MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Gymnasts, dancers, and rock climbers are showing off their cool ways of staying fit. The Children's Coalition of Northeast Louisiana hosts it's 3rd yearly Fall Fit Fest. Local gymnastics and dance teams got to show off what keeps them in shape. Other children got to learn about healthy snacks, climb a rock wall and even do the hokey-pokey for the crowd. The event is held each year to encourage active lifestyles for families.
"this morning we had a 5-k, we had families who were running and walking together, which was really great fun to see, even babies in buggies with their daddies and their mommies," Executive Director Lynda Gavioli said. "And so that's, that's what we are promoting...is families doing exercising together and promoting life long health and being well and healthy from the beginning."
Parents also got to learn about ways to become active with their kids and health insurance plans for the family.
