MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The national average price of gas this past week continued to hover just below the all-time high for the month of September.

During the week, we in Louisiana saw prices rise another .8¢ to $3.66 a gallon. Nationally during the same period the average price eased up 2.3¢ to $3.86 a gallon.

We're running 26.9¢ a gallon higher than this time last year, and 13.1¢ higher than a month ago.

Nationally the price is up 24.9¢ over last year and 15.8¢ higher for the month.

Many experts still believe we'll see a slight easing of prices by the end of the month, but on the whole, there's still a good chance this year will see the highest yearly gas price average ever recorded in the U.S.
