City fire hydrants to be tested

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) -The Monroe Fire Department, in conjunction with the Water Distribution Department, will be conducting its annual city-wide fire hydrant flow testing starting Monday and continuing through the end of the month, from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

These tests are necessary to ensure proper operation of the fire hydrant as well as to ensure a sufficient supply of water in the event of a fire emergency in your area.

During these times residents may see a mild fluctuation in water pressure and the possibility of discolored water. To minimize problems that might occur we ask that you check your water supply thoroughly before cooking or doing laundry.

If you experience discolored water please call 329-2385 immediately so that the problem may resolved as soon as possible.
