WINNSBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A pilot killed in a small plane crash in Winnsboro on Thursday afternoon has been identifed as a 67-year-old retired Delta Airlines pilot.
The Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office says Farley Gooch of Roswell, Georgia, was killed instantly in the single-engine plane crash near the airport in Winnsboro.
Gooch was in Winnsboro to purchase the plane involved in the crash.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will be at the crash site on Friday to investigate.
