RAYVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Richland Parish Sheriff's deputies are working to protect residents from any potential dangers Tropical Storm Isaac may bring.
Parish leaders have set up two buildings for emergency shelters, in case there is major flooding or any other damage to homes.
Officers in Rayville are monitoring the storm along with forecasters to see if they need to open the shelters.
In Franklin Parish, the sheriff says one shelter is open.
Anyone local parish resident can head to River of Life Church off of Highway 15.
Deputies are also working double shifts throughout the night and day to help residents get through the potential impact of Isaac.
Franklin residents can also pick up sandbags at the sheriff's office.
