BATON ROUGE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Louisiana is set to get a $17 million grant to go to improving public drinking water systems.
The grant was announced this week by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The dollars, according to the EPA release, are coming from the EPA's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, and will be turned over to the state Department of Health and Hospitals for loan assistance for water system infrastructure upgrades and repairs.
The program was designed to promote safe drinking water for communities.
