WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The New Orleans community laid to rest one of the two St. John Parish Sheriff's Deputies killed in Thursday's shoot out. We're learning that five of the seven charged in the St. John Parish shooting have ties to the ARKLAMISS.
44 year old Terry Lynn Smith, 24 year old Brian Lyn Smith, and 22 year old Derrick D. Smith, all have records with the Moorehouse Parish Sheriff's Office, with small criminal history, burglaries.
The last record of charges for Brian was 2008, Derick 2007, and Terry in 2001, but they aren't the only ones, 23 year old Brittney Keith has been arrested by the West Monroe Police Department.
J. Gabbs says, "Keith has a DWI, possession both of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property nothing that would have flagged her as an extremist or anything that would have stood out to us."
Officers tell us 37 year old Chanel Melissa Skains, has a connect in Moorehouse Parish but doesn't have a previous record.
