Body found in Morehouse Parish

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Morehouse Parish man is in jail accused of killing his father.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs says Larry Dantzler,51, alerted the sheriff's office Saturday morning of the crime.

Tubbs says when deputies responded to Canterbury Road just north of Bonita, they found Curtis Dantzler's,75, body.

Deputies say it appears the elderly man died of a gunshot wound.

Dantzler was taken into custody at the Morehouse Parish Detention Center and booked on 1 count of second-degree murder.

No bond has been set. The sheriff says the 51-year-old may not be able to see a judge until Monday morning.
