West Nile takes more Louisiana lives

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)/AP - The West Nile Virus takes the life of more people in Louisiana bringing the total now to six in the state. The health and hospitals department says there are 15 new cases, bringing that total to 68. More than half of those people have the most serious form of the virus that infects the brain and the spinal cord. DHH says that's the highest total they've seen since 2006. A new case of the West Nile fever was recently reported in Ouachita Parish.
