EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Lafayette Police think the remains of missing ULL student Mickey Shunick have been found in Evangeline Parish.
Police say the remains were found buried in a cemetery off Highway 10. LSU forensic specialists were at the scene throughout the evening, collecting evdience for a positive identification.
No details have yet been released on what led investigators to the cemetery.
Shunick was last seen leaving a friend's home on her bicycle, back on May 19.
33-year-old Brandon Lavergne faces first-degree murder and kidnapping charges. Prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty in the case.
