MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The beginning of school is just around the corner, and many parents are looking for ways to save, any little bit they can.
This weekend may be the perfect time to get an extra bang for your buck!
The sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 3rd and runs through Saturday, August 4th.
The sales tax holiday includes a number of items one group on the list, school supplies.
The holiday will only include state wide sales tax, but that's 4 % of your total bill.
One parent told us she is looking forward to being able to save any money that she can.
Summer Nielsen says, "you would save a lot more if you have more than one child, buying multiple supplies of one thing, even if there are different grades some of the supplies in higher grades cost more than the lower grades."
