MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The average price of a gallon of gas here in Louisiana went up again this past week, but only 1.7¢ in this latest cycle.

This rise puts us at $3.30 average for a gallon, which is still comparing favorably with the national average, which is currently at $3.50 a gallon.

Including the change in gas prices in Louisiana during the past week, prices yesterday were 29.4 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 24.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 12.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 20.2 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Petroleum experts tend to agree that the prices will continue to move upward until after the Labor Day holiday.
