WEST MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A Texas man, 32-year-old Timothy Randle, was arrested  in West Monroe this week on stolen car charges.

West Monroe police say that a West Monroe Police Department Street Crimes Unit observed a black 2012 Dodge Challenger traveling east on Cypress St. A routine check of the license plate revealed that the Challenger was reported stolen from Ruston.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Randle, who is from Arlington Texas. The vehicle was also occupied by a second passenger and Randle's four year old son who was unrestrained in the rear passenger seat. An open alcoholic beverage container was also located inside of the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Officers determined that Randle's Louisiana driver's license was suspended and was wanted by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department for forgery.

Randle was taken into custody and transported to the West Monroe Correctional Center where he was booked for Illegal Possession of Stolen Property, Driving While License Suspended, Open Alcoholic Container Inside of a Motor Vehicle and No Child Safety Seat.

He was subsequently transferred to the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center where he will await bond to be set.
