Monroe man found guilty in rape trial

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A Ouachita parish jury has convicted 36 year old, Moses M. Parker guilty of aggravated rape.

Parker was accused of raping a twelve year old girl October 6, 2006 at Colonial Manor Apartments and was convicted by a unanimous jury vote.

At one point, Parker had been declared incompetent to stand trial, which delayed the process for some time.

However, in 2011, that ruling was reversed and he was declared competent.

He faces a mandatory life sentence and is expected to be sentenced within the next 60 days.
