SHREVEPORT, La., (KNOE 8 News) - West Monroe Chiropractor Dallas Humble has pled guilty to two charges lodged against him in this case.
ORIGINAL STORY:
An illegal human growth hormone conspiracy is being heard by a Shreveport Federal judge this week, and the accused are people from the twin city community. Four years ago in 2008, federal agents and state police, served a search warrant and took boxes of files and other evidence from the Northeast Louisiana anti-aging and Wellness center.
It was part of an investigation looking into illegal human growth hormone purchases from China. The three accused of buying and selling the FDA banned drug: West Monroe chiropractor Dallas Humble, Doctor Linda Bunch and businessman Paul Temple. The federal government says, between 2003 and 2008, the illegal drug was given to patients for anti-aging and other unapproved purposes.
In 2010, all three were indicted with 22 counts of violating federal law and just a few months later. Dr. Bunch and Temple entered plea agreements. Dr. Bunch pled guilty for criminal conspiracy and Temple for illegal importation of the hormone.
Humble continues to plead innocent, both Dr. Bunch and Temple are scheduled to be sentenced on August 31. They could face up to 30 years in prison and fines in the hundreds of thousands of dollars if convicted.
