Gas prices inch upwards

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The average retail price of a gallon here in Louisiana this past week moved upwards 4.6¢ reaching $3.16 a gallon by week's end. This puts us at 38.9¢ a gallon lower than this time last year and still 4.8¢ a gallon lower than last month.

Nationally, prices didn't move at all this past week, and are holding at $3.42 a gallon, still well above Louisiana prices.

Agreeing with most "petro-experts", GasBuddy's Senior Petroleum Analyst, Patrick DeHaan, predicts that "Those who stuck around the low gas price party expecting it to last have realized they're out in the cold, and we'll likely continue to see the national average rise in response. Most regions should see prices rising but the Rockies areas may see any increase take considerably longer."
