MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Average retail gas prices jumped another 5.2¢ this past week in Louisiana and are back above $3 dollars at $3.11.

This latest move puts us 38.5¢ lower than a year ago and 15.1¢ lower than a month ago.

The national average, meanwhile rose 3.8¢ to an average $3.41 a gallon, which is 15.2¢ lower than it was a month ago and 21.4¢ lower than this time last year.

GasBuddy Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan's take on the uptick; "While I don't necessarily believe that the recent uptick in crude prices will stick, I also don't see prices falling considerably lower until after the conclusion of the summer driving season, when demand declines, and more expensive blends are phased out."
