MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - It may not be July 4th anymore, but it certainly looked that way in the Twin Cities Saturday. The yearly Monroe Junior Chamber Fireworks show kicked off around 9:00 at night near Forsythe Park.  Hundreds of families turned out to see the show, and the little ones were by far the happiest people out there.

"It's fun, it's breezy, it's fun to watch, the water, getting to play in the park, it's very fun. Just talking to the people, and getting to meet new friends," a couple kids said.

The chamber group, is also known as the Monroe Jaycees. They are a group of adults from 18 to 40 years old dedicated to civic service.
