MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Almost 40 thousand families go hungry every year and that's just in our area. That's why KNOE along with NSSI wireless Verizon retail stores have teamed up to help feed the needy.
So far this campaign has donated on average about on average, 700 pounds each month and over 12-hundred pounds of food overall. But the food bank still needs more donations and there are ways you can help.
Wireless store general manager Byron Caldwell says when you purchase a new phone or upgrade your phone at a participating
Verizon Wireless location that you see listed here, Verizon Wireless
will donate one can of food to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana in
your name.
You can continue to drop off non perishable items or have food donated in your name at Verizon locations until December of this year.
