MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Eighteen-year-old Eric Alexander may soon face hard time in prison for allegedly shooting three people in the 600 block of Greenwood Drive in Monroe Wednesday night. Fortunately no one was killed.

"Everyone that was treated last night at local hospitals either had been released or are in stable conditions," said Ouachita Parish Sheriff Major Jason Pleasant.

But one of the victim was also arrested. Twenty-year-old Vonterrous White was shot in the foot - but deputies said he also exchanged fire.

"The more people came forward and the more we were able to uncover, and determine that he in fact exchanged gun fire with Mr. Alexander," said White. "He was responsible for shooting one of our victims.""

Deputies said the shooting was the result of an ongoing argument between two groups of people - something Pleasant said the young men should have avoided.

"There's nothing worth want they are going through now," said Pleasant. "That you can say to someone that would result in gunfire."

Alexander and White face charges of attempted second degree murder.

"Both have provided statements," said Pleasant. "And both admitted to firing their weapons at the other person."
