RUSTON, La (KNOE 8 News) - A breakthrough in several cases of residential burglary in North Louisiana has led to three new arrests.

The Lincoln, Claiborne, and Bienville Parish Sheriff's Departments have joined forces with the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Ruston Police to investigate more than 25 home invasions from the last two months.

Clyde Rowe, 24, has been charged with possession of marijuana and one count of simple burglary; Jeremy Newsome, 25, has been charged with two counts illegal possession of stolen things; and Treyeon Pleasant, 21, has been charged with one count illegal possession of stolen things.

Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone says the cooperation between departments has been key in this investigation.

Police are advising people to ask neighbors to watch their homes while they're away and to report all suspicious activity to police.  "Cut the shrubbery around your house, also get your serial numbers on your items as much as you can, for every item that you can, take pictures and video tape of them and put that in a safety deposit box," says Stone.

Chief Steven Rogers, Ruston Police, says one of the most important ways to keep you and your home safe is to be observant and report all suspicious activity to police.
