MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Wearing saggy pants in the City of Monroe may leave you digging deep in your pockets.
That's if a proposal preventing what some call, indecent attire, passes next month. The measure calls for violators to get slapped with a $25 fine for a first offence and no more than $250 if you break the proposed rule more than once.
There's a public hearing on this issue at the next Monroe City Council Meeting. It's scheduled for July 10 at six in the evening. If a juvenile is caught breaking the proposed law, parents can also get a fine and be required to serve up to 40 hours of community service.
