MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Cooking judge Grant Terry is overwhelmed by the number of peachy dishes entered into this year's cookery contest.

The Presbyterian Church of Ruston is hosting it's annual event competition all in honor of this year's peach festival. The judges will have a hard time choosing a winner this year as the event has gotten stronger.

"This is the biggest entry," said sponsor Kim Burch.  "As we have at least twenty six entries in this categories."

Adults and kids can compete. And judges got a taste of at least fifty different dishes ranging from peach parfaits to peachy rice.

"I've never seen that before," said Burch. "And one year did a dish with duck, and that was interesting, every year you never know."

Terry explained the toughest part of being a judge.

"It very hard," said Terry. "Especially because you start to get full at the end."

Terry said the dishes are judged on texture and of course their peachy tastes.
