A church van carrying 15 children overturns in Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - -More than a dozen children are injured after a wreck involving a church van and a truck. Monroe police say a "Joy of Ministries" church van out of Jonesboro had 15 kids and three adults in the vehicle. They were on their way to a flag football game Saturday morning.
Church members took out the passenger seats for more room for the kids.The driver ran a stop sign on Orange and 14th streets. Another vehicle hit the church van, that caused it to overturn. Fortunately, police say the biggest injury was a broken leg. The driver was sighted for running a stop sign and 17 seatbelt violations.
