More vetoes from Jindal

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A bill calling for a tax rebate for donations to under performing public schools has been vetoed. Governor Jindal turned away the measure created by Monroe's State Representative Katrina Jackson. The bill was a direct response to a state law. That rule says people who donate to nonprofit  groups that provide private school scholarships can get a tax break. The governor also vetoed a number of other bills, including one to require evaluations of whether tax breaks to businesses are effective.
