Posted: Updated: June 9, 2012 06:30 PM

RICHWOOD, La. (KNOE 8 News) - This month is a special one for many in the nation. More than 140 years ago, Texas became the last state to free their slaves. That led many in Ouachita Parish to celebrate Saturday at Richwood High. This tradition and state holiday, commonly known as Juneteenth, brought out a classic car show, some good cooking, and a gospel show. This is the 14th year event leaders put on the festivities.
