WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Thousands are hitting the streets to fight muscular dystrophy this weekend. This is the 32nd yearly Poker Run that kicked off at the Cheniere Lake campground 8. Motorcyclists went on a 100-mile trip. Along the journey, each rider had to pick up several poker cards. The person with the best hand won a nice prize. Event planners have a goal of donating thousands of dollars to the MDA. The president of North Louisiana Motorcyclists for kids says last year they managed to rack up more than $20,000.

"This our thirty-second year we been doing this, last year we gave them over 24-thousand dollars and its an event that all motorcyclist and motorcyclist enthusiasm are welcome to come," North Louisiana Motorcyclists for Kids President Jimmy Langston said.

Many event goers took a chance at winning a new harley bike. Tickets were sold at $20 a piece. The event wraps up Sunday morning with a church service.
