A war vet widow speaks out

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Several military and war vets groups are hoping for more support for our troops coming back from the Middle East. Saturday, The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe hosted a documentary screening. The movie highlighted the life of a local war vet who committed suicide stemming from two tours in Iraq. The vets widow says everyone needs to understand and support returning warriors. She also spoke about her husband's life right after he came back home.

"It's been a journey. Its been, I had ups and downs, but I've been ok. I been, I have my son and he is what holds me together through this whole ordeal," Kacey Eppinette said.

The film was shown every 30 minutes starting at 11 Saturday morning to 3 in the afternoon. Admission was free but donations were made to the Invisible Wounds of War Fund.
