MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Monroe's own, Chef Cory Bahr, owner of restaurant Cotton in downtown Monroe, had his skills put to the test on national cable TV.
Chef Bahr appeared in a competition with three other chefs on Food Network's "chopped". The challenge was to turn a basket of mystery ingredients into a winning dish. Cory Bahr told us during his appearance he tried to change people's perceptions about North Louisiana cuisine.
"To be a part of something like "Chopped" for my career and where I live here in Monroe, it is incredible. It gets it out there that we have great food all over the state of Louisiana, not just in New Orleans. That is something I'm passionate about, where I live." said Chef Cory Bahr.
Friends and family gathered at Restaurant Cotton to watch Chef Cory in action. They watched him win the competition and walk away with a $10 thousand dollar prize, which he used to upgrade his kitchen at the restaurant.
