Roadwork coming next week

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Starting this coming Monday, there will be a number of areas in North Louisiana that will see roadwork affecting drivers.

Next week, beginning Monday, I-20 in Monroe will see overnight lane closures through Sunday the 10th. The work will be focused in the area which runs from the Stella/Mill Interchange in West Monroe, to the Texas Avenue Interchange in Monroe. During periods when the work is taking place, the following ramps are also likely to be closed at times: The Eastbound ramp at the Stella/Mill exit, the 5th Street entrance ramp, and the Hall Street entrance ramp. In addition, there will likely be periods when the Pecanland Mall Drive entrance ramp, the Texas Ave./North 18th Street Interchange and the Calypso Street Entrance Ramp are also closed.

In addition to those night-time closures, construction crews will be repairing some barrier rail panels on the I-20 bridge over the Ouachita River, which will also cause some slowdowns and will need more caution on the part of drivers in this area.

In Richland Parish, meanwhile, East and Westbound lanes of I-20 from Bee Bayou (Exit 141) to Holly ridge (Exit 145) will be experience lane closures from Monday through Sunday, June 10th, while construction crews so some work on the roadway surface.

Louisiana 15 will see lane closures starting Monday the 4th, from the US 425 junction near Archibald to its junction with La. 135 near Alto. Again, the lane closures are necessary to allow road crews to work on the roadway surface.
