WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Firefighters battled a grass fire along Interstate 20 Saturday afternoon. The I-20 blaze began West of the Well Road Exit to the Cheniere Lake Exit. It's unknown what sparked the fire that kicked off late in the afternoon. Crews were able to contain the blaze. We're told fire trucks left the scene around 5 P.M. This should not have an impact on your Memorial Day Weekend travels. Firefighters will continue to monitor this area throughout the night.

Monroe, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Police arrested Thomas Wroten this afternoon following a domestic dispute. At 9:15pm last night Monroe Police received an emergent call for help in the 5300 block of Blanks.
