Verizon and KNOE help donate over 700 lbs of food to needy

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Almost 40,000 families go hungry every year and that's just in our area. That's why KNOE along with NSSI wireless Verizon Retail Stores have teamed up to help feed the needy.
To date, the partnership has been able to donate over 700 lbs. of food to the food bank.
The Northeast Louisiana food bank needs more donations and there are ways you can help us reach that goal. The wireless stores general manager Byron Caldwell says if you upgrade or purchase a plan, they will donate a can of food in your honor.

Everyone is encouraged to participate. Each of the listed Verizon Wireless locations will have a shopping cart on site where you can drop off your donation of canned goods.
