MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The room was silent. It was right before the KNOE news staff was to go to their places to start the 10pm newscast. There was a click of a mouse button, gasps, and then cheers... "We have a winner!"
Arthena Campbell of Monroe beat out thousands to be the winner of a new third generation 32gb iPad, a prize that was meant for only one lucky KNOE 8 News Facebook fan.
Arthena Campbell came by the KNOE 8 Studios to collect her prize Thursday afternoon. Campbell said she was watching the 10pm Newscast Wednesday evening and learned she had won as we announced on-air.
Larry Rhymes presented the iPad, which had been sitting anxiously the last few weeks on a shelf, to the excited hands of its new owner.
