MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Regional airports in the news this morning include Shreveport and Little Rock facilities.
In Shreveport, the Airport Authority has announced that it plans to raise its parking price by a half-dollar a day at all three on-site lots. In addition, Shreveport's airport will drop its weekly rates in the long-term parking lot.
Meanwhile, in Little Rock, that airport is struggling with problems in security screening. Apparently, in some cases, passengers are having to wait for more than an hour at times to get through the screening.
The problem, according to the airport's Executive Director, is that some passengers are showing up less than an hour before their scheduled flight time, despite the fact that 90 minutes prior to flight time is what the airport authority and the airlines call for. In addition, because of construction work, the airport's website is telling passengers to arrive at least two hours before their flight times.
In any case, the Little Rock airport authority does say it's adding a second screener during peak hours now.
