Motorcyclists stop in Monroe in honor of our vets

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The yearly "Run for the Wall" motorcycle group rolled into Monroe. Riders stopped at the Barak Shrine Temple on Frontage Road for some good ole' Louisiana food. They're on a journey to Washington D.C. for Memorial Day weekend. They do this ride every year to honor all U.S. veterans. Dozens in our area are happy to see the visitors.

"It is really great that they chose Monroe, Louisiana as part of their route. And the Vets over there cooked for them Sunday. Served them a good catfish supper plate. All these people from everywhere else, they hardly get the Louisiana catfish and gumbo," Jimmy Squirrel said.

Monday at 8 in the morning, riders are gathering at the Monroe City Hall for a wreath laying ceremony.
