Budget battle in Baton Rouge

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) -Hundreds of Louisianans are pleading with lawmakers to stop proposed cuts to state health care programs. Many are asking state leaders to spare dental care, school based health centers, and assisted living programs for the disabled.

Parents who take part in an early intervention group for children three and up were also voicing their concerns with the cuts. They say the group for kids help the little ones with their speech and vision problems.

Lawmakers are reviewing next year's $25 billion operating budget.
