FERRIDAY, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the killing of a Ferriday teen by a 66-year-old man.
Kenya Cauley, 17, was reportedly shot one time in the torso area by George Willie Spurs, 66, of 153 Earl Davis Rd late Sunday.
Cauley was airlifted to an Alexandria area hospital where he died later in the evening.
CPSO investigators interviewed Spurs and witnesses from the area Sunday night and today, initially arresting Spurs on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. During the day today, that charge against Spurs was increased to second-degree murder.
The teenager was reportedly shot with a 270-bolt action rifle. The weapon has been recovered. The shooting allegedly occurred at Spurs' 153 Earl David Road residence.
