We win again--gas prices down

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - During the past week, Louisiana saw another drop in gas prices, this time to the tune of 5.4¢ a gallon.

A year ago in Louisiana, the average price of a gallon was right at $3.80 a gallon, and this year it's 27.4¢ lower than that at $3.52 a gallon. In the past month the prices in Louisiana have fallen some 25.7¢.

Nationwide, the average gallon cost fell 3.3¢ a gallon to $3.72 this past week, down 20.3¢ a gallon from a year ago.

Prices on the West Coast continue to hang well above the individual state figures because of refinery production out there.
