MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Bayou State's yearly Voter Registration Week has officially kicked off. Elections officials are encouraging everyone who's at least 17-years-old to register to vote. Registrars throughout the state will hold many events through Friday to help sign up new voters. There's an October 9 deadline to register to vote for the November 6 Congressional and Presidential Election.
