MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The average score of the Monroe superintendent evaluation show's the school leader may be under fire.

"I do have all the data from the seven school board members. I've done first of all a two page spreadsheet," School Board Attorney L. Douglas Lawrence said.

One spreadsheet shows the results from a general evaluation. Scores were totaled from 32 questions on that form. On a number scale from one to four, most board members rated Harris as underperforming. The two highest numbers were given by Board Members Rodney McFarland and Glynn Ludley.

"For a total cumulative average score by the board of 1.965," Harris said.

The second spreadsheet measures the six performance objectives taken from the superintendent's contract. Most of the scores show no big changes.

However in this particular evaluation, Harris received two perfect scores. Board Members Rodney McFarland and Glynn Ludley believe Superintendent Kathleen Harris is doing a great job when it comes to completing her duties outlined by her contract.

"The overall average for the performance objectives by the board is 1.96," Harris said.

School board members did not say if these numbers mean Harris may be out of a job. The school leaders will sit down and have a conference with Harris to break down the purpose of the scores. They did not announce when the meeting will take place.
