Bill would add extra requirement to abortion procedures

Monroe, La. (KNOE 8 News)- A bill adding an extra step to get an abortion passed through the health and wellness committee in Louisiana's Senate yesterday.
Democrat Senator Sharon Broome wants to change the Louisiana abortion requirements. Current law requires a woman to see her ultrasound before aborted..within 2 hours. Hearing an audible fetus heartbeat will be the added requirement. Both steps would have to be completed within 24 hours of the procedure.
