"Spring Market" kicks-off at Monroe Civic Center

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Junior League of Monroe kicked-off its14th Annual Spring Market on Friday at the Monroe Civic Center. 

The fundraiser supports various programs sponsored by the Junior League throughout Ouachita Parish. "We love the spring market. We come every year.  It's just a fun getaway for us to shop and look at all the neat stuff," says shopper Angela Hammond. 

It's every shoppers dream come true.  A hundred vendors under one roof.  The Spring Market is a major fundraiser for the league. "This fundraiser basically funds our whole year of events. For the past six consecutive years we've raised over $100,000," says Spring Market committee chair Katherine Reppond.

"In 14, years we've raised over a million dollars and that has gone straight back to our community." The league prides itself on building leaders and supporting the Ouachita Parish community.

There's an early bird shopping extravaganza that begins at 6:30pm on Friday, March 30.  Tickets are $40 at the door.  The evening includes entertainment, raffles, catered buffet stations and plenty of shopping. " You can save your money and come buy a lot of good things all in the same place," adds Hammond.

The Spring Market opens for general admission on March 31 and April 1. Tickets are $8 at the door.  Saturday, March 31 the hours are 9am - 6pm.  Sunday, April 1 the hours are 12pm - 5pm.
