BATON ROUGE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - According to the 2011 Louisiana Health Insurance Survey released by LSU, fewer children were uninsured last year, but more adults didn't have health insurance.
According to the report, there were just over 16,000 fewer uninsured children in the state than in the previous study, and more than 600,000 adult now uninsured, which is almost 1 in 4 adults in the state uninsured, a large increase from the last study. About 3.5% of the state's children's were without health insurance.
This survey was the fifth done for the Louisiana DHH since the first one in 2003.
