MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The only airport in Louisiana without an independent board overlooking operations is in Northeast Louisiana. The Associated Press says the Monroe Regional Airport Former Director Cleve Norrell, fired in November, believes outside management could help the airport he once worked for, run a better operation.
Several years ago, Monroe City Council Members voted to be the only ruling board over Monroe Regional. The AP says Norrell believes politics could be taken out as a factor in most decisions if the airport is run by an outside team.
